TOKYO, Japan- November 16, 2005 – ACCESS Co., Ltd., (TSE: 4813) announced today that Pioneer Corporation’s GEX-P7DTV in-car digital television receiver will include ACCESS’ NetFront™TV Profile digital TV browser.
NetFront DTV Profile supports BML (Broadcast Markup Language), the Association of Radio Industries and Business (ARIB) sanctioned data broadcasting language for satellite, cable and terrestrial digital television broadcasts. While ACCESS’ NetFront technology has been included in over 10 different brands of digital TVs and over 1 million automobile telematics systems in 2005, this is the first time that the NetFront browser has been included in an in-car digital TV receiver.
ACCESS has been a market leader in car navigation systems with an in-car computer terminal and HTML browser called NetFront Automotive Profile. In the future, using digital consumer electronics technology as a base, ACCESS’ goal is to increase its market share with an in-car television receiver with digital broadcast capabilities.
“We have an excellent track record with in-car digital consumer electronics with digital broadcasting capabilities. In the future, using this same technology as a foundation, we will offer an even more comprehensive digital broadcast solution for in-car product users,” said Toru Arakawa, president and CEO of ACCESS.
ACCESS will demonstrate NetFront DTV Profile on the GEX-P7DTV in-car terrestrial digital TV tuner at ACCESS Day to be held at the Westin Tokyo on November 22, 2005.
