Companies Jointly Develop and Provide Advertising Services for Smartphone Apps Based on NetAd, ACCESS’ New Mobile Advertising Solution
Jakarta and Tokyo, April 2nd, 2012 – PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk (Telkom), the largest telecommunications and network services provider in Indonesia and its subsidiary, PT. Infomedia Nusantara (Infomedia,) and ACCESS Co. Ltd, a global provider of advanced software technologies to the mobile, beyond-PC and digital TV markets today (April 2nd, 2012) announced a partnership to jointly develop and begin providing mobile advertising services via smartphone applications based on “NetAd“, ACCESS’ mobile advertising solution in Indonesia. Telkom Group is now engaged in the field of integrated information and digital media solutions.
Indonesia, the world’s fourth largest nation with a population around 240 million, has seen a rapid increase in mobile phones and smartphone users, making it one of the largest mobile markets in the world. Amid a surging demand for smartphones, Telkom is expanding their smartphone service, and Infomedia is developing mobile advertising services focused on smartphone applications.
Through a cooperation agreement, Telkom, Infomedia, and ACCESS will work together to develop and implement a total system for mobile advertising, using NetAd. NetAd is ACCESS’s newly launched mobile advertising solution with high value-added features, combining ACCESS’ mobile software technologies for smartphones and other devices with cloud computing technologies. This mobile ad service serves ads viewable by the user through an application that is downloaded via Flexi Market Application Store. In addition, ACCESS will publish its own unique official Flexi apps through Flexi Market with the support of Telkom. All advertising sales and marketing will be managed jointly by Telkom and Infomedia.
“Through mobile advertising, the advertiser can select a variety of strategies to advertise each purpose as well as awareness, interest, or even action,” said Executive General Manager of Telkom Flexi, Mas’ud Khamid. Through this partnership with Infomedia and ACCESS, Mas’ud Khamid hopes that Flexi will earn significant revenue from advertising.
“We are optimistic that the new service will benefit all three companies. The potential of mobile ads is very bright because it is supported by the rise of smartphone users in Indonesia. Flexi Subscriber currently about 18.5 million,” said Eddy Kurnia, Head of Corporate Communications and Affairs of Telkom.
Kurnia added that cooperation with ACCESS is important for Telkom, given ACCESS’ experience in providing a variety of applications for iPhone®, iPad® and Android™ mobile devices, which has been downloaded by millions of smartphone and tablet computer users.”
President Director of Infomedia, Muhammad Awaluddin said that the collaboration between Telkom Group and ACCESS is expected to open new business opportunities, particularly for the advertising business on a variety of electronic devices. “We will work to increase the number of advertisers even through mobile advertising business is relatively new in Indonesia,” said Awaluddin.

Murofushi also announced that as evidence of the seriousness of ACCESS’ support of Infomedia, ACCESS has established its new subsidiary PT. Asia Pacific Indonesia ACCESS (ACCESS Indonesia) in Jakarta. ACCESS Indonesia will provide a variety of mobile services, beyond-PC and Digital TV for Indonesia market.
